Hi, I'm Gabriel Rivera — an undergraduate student in engineering who's spent the last few months helping students from elementary school through high school get comfortable with math instead of dreading it. I got into tutoring because I love the moment a concept finally clicks, and I've built my approach around reaching that moment faster: clear explanations, plenty of practice, and a lot of patience.
Algebra is where I focus most of my energy, because it's the foundation everything else is built on — once a student feels steady solving equations and working with variables, geometry, trigonometry, and beyond all become a lot less intimidating. I went through these same classes myself not long ago, so I have a good sense of where students tend to get stuck, and I try to meet them there instead of just repeating the textbook explanation.
I offer both in-person sessions around the Bronx-Manhattan area and remote sessions over video call, with flexible scheduling for steady weekly support, test prep, or a one-time review before a big exam. If you're not sure where to start, reach out — an assessment session is a low-pressure way to figure out a plan together.
An assessment session is a relaxed, no-pressure first step — we'll talk through where a student is at, what's felt tricky lately, and what a plan forward could look like. No homework, no obligation — just a starter for us to get warmed up. Call, text, or email me to find a time that works!
